1,001 Steps - Crescent Beach

I am not quite sure how to write this blog post. Part of me wants to reflect on all the marvelous memories I share with these ladies but that leads to a bittersweet feeling. I know that we are all soon going to come to the point in our lives where we have to go our separate ways. Hopefully not forever, but it is time for all of us to move on and travel down our own individual paths. It is an unsettling feeling knowing you are currently creating the memories that you will look back on fondly with old age. You want to say yes to every opportunity but know that each moment and memory should be treasured. I am blessed to have found people who each in their own way have shaped who I have become. You have all taught me to love, to be patient and the feeling behind having absolutely no filter.
As a child I would always diligently watch the server staff working seamlessly as a team to deliver an unforgettable dining experience. It was the position of bartender that I was naturally drawn to. They always reminded me of a mad scientist concocting a plethora of different formulas. I distinctively remember telling myself, “I could do that.” As I got older and graduated high school I started looking for a job that would accommodate my erratic post-secondary schedule. I aimlessly wandered from one chain restaurant to another handing in resumes. As I closed out my search I decided to try one last time, heading to a locally owned establishment Sammy Js in Langley. I left the building an employee and have been forever grateful for the past four years. I never thought the job would shape my personality in the way it has.
Fast-forward to present date, I now spend my free afternoons wandering around beautiful landscapes with people who I genuinely enjoy their company. On our most recent adventure we decided to load into the Mini and head to 1,001 Steps in Crescent Beach. There are less than that many stairs don’t worry. It is a beautiful wood staircase that leads down to a hidden beach along the train tracks. Being the perfect location to get in a good work out, or family adventure. I was lucky enough to explore it with some of my closest friends & share it with you.
